Position

Microsoft Small Business Server Specialist and Desktop Support Engineer

Company

TechDomain was established in 1999 and operates from its premises in Eastbourne, Lower Hutt.   Our core activities are support, sales and service of Windows based computer systems across the Wellington region.

Due to natural growth, an opportunity has arisen for a Microsoft Small Business Server Specialist/Desktop Support Engineer to join our small staff to help service our established customer base.

The Role

The role will involve all aspects of our business from desktop servicing to Small Business Server design, deployment, customization and support.   The successful candidate will also be involved with helping to grow the business and take part in decision-making.   This is a great opportunity to join a small business with potential.

Duties and Responsibilities

As part of a small company, the successful candidate will need to learn and participate in all aspects of the business, typically comprising:

Provide IT support to a broad range of customers from home user to corporate user.

Service computer systems including: repairs and parts replacement; software installation and troubleshooting.

Support clients both remotely and onsite, installing new servers, migrating servers, integrating desktops, setting up networks, and monitoring.

Configuring new equipment prior to and during site installation.

Troubleshooting problems with customers’ systems: by phone, remote access and on site.

Maintaining detailed documentation of work carried out.

System monitoring and configuration changes.

Skills

The ideal candidate would have extensive knowledge installing, configuring and managing Windows Server environments with router, firewall, and backup and disaster recovery knowledge and should have relevant industry experience, a car owner and live locally.

·          Microsoft Qualified (MCP or MCSE) - training may be provided for suitable candidate

·          Experience with MS Server/SBS Server 2003, 2008

·          Experience with MS Exchange 2003, 2007

·          Good knowledge of firewalls, routers and networking infrastructure

·          Solid background in Windows XP and Windows 7 operating systems

·          Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

Personal Skills

·          Must be a good team member with excellent communication and customer skills.

·          Must be eligible to live and work in NZ and have an excellent command of English.

·          Driving Licence.

Package

Salary package is dependent on experience.
